una dintre preferatele mele de pe album, chiar daca in cuvinte nu gasesti (aproape) nicio figura de stil. brian descrie piesa ca fiind "o confesiune totala" din partea sa, o reactie la piesele in care inventeaza personaje, ascunzandu-se in spatele lor. titlul, din cate am inteles, se refera la "luminile orasului", la viata citadina - check http://traductionsetparoles.over-blog.com/ pentru mai multe detalii.
instrumentalul imi aminteste mult de the killers.

nici mie nu mi se pare trsita. ma face sa iau tristetea,durerea ca fiind ceva normal ceea ce pana la urma chiar este,face parte din viata de zi cu zi. si in durere poti gasi ceva bun(nu ma refer la durerea fizica). melodia asta imi lasa un sentiment de impacare,de acceptare.

Brian Molko: I have to look after me and be good to myself. To be precisely that means for me: I have to stop pushing constantly the self-destruction-button. I have to find something …. (he pauses and tries to find words). It is just love, I think. To carry love in yourself. To try to better understand your inner self, to protect yourself better and to look after yourself. There are many things in me, that I don’t understand, that are too much for me. Basically that means to me, I have finally to meet my life, instead of running away.
Teleschau: Your lyrics are very open and personal. Are you presently in a stage of discovering yourself, that you describe in “Bright Lights”?
Brian Molko: The lyrics are very autobiographic, a complete confession from my point of view. On former records I used to invent characters, through which I could talk about my feelings and fears. I used these characters as selfprotection and catalysator to express myself. This time I didn't do this. The voice of the storyteller is my own. I think this record is much more honest and personal with these lyrics.
